Assertiveness
Whether via a telephone conversation, direct meeting or through correspondence, over stating one's case is not a good idea.
A quietly spoken person will receive a greater response generally and especially if he or she chooses their words carefully.
Consulting others before decisions are taken, will prove useful, even if one rejects the advise given. Paving the way forward and to allow others to vent their feelings is sensible, should there be opposition to the particular proposal made.
