Formulation of a Job Description
Knowing clearly the areas of responsibility for the work entailed in a particular vacancy is most useful.
A broad summary or outline can be written into a paragraph and may even help to give ideas as to the construction of a heading or Job Title.
Following on from a summary and Job Title would be an itemised list of all the duties attached to the appointment. The most important duty would rank first and conclude with a generalisation that covers all else that had been left out from the earlier considerations. The last item would still be within the sensible realms of possibility of the expected work load and would better be related, as with the others, to the line Manager's direction.
