may find being honest difficult, if they feel that others will not
understand their situation.
An interview or small group discussion will be
more productive if confidentiality is observed.
References and testimonials should give a clear indication of all the potential the individual exhibits and leave out those areas which detract from that person.
A reference or testimonial reflects not just on the person in question,
but also on the company and personnel staff who provide it. There would be
no value therefore in showing the company to be incompetent.
