Integrity - Honesty
Relations with people inside and outside a company are best if honesty is
applied and being consistent is vital.
The individual needs to be honest
with him or her self, not necessarily an easy task.
Such questions as 'Where did I go wrong?', need to be asked before
assessing problems that have occurred.
Honesty becomes difficult where pain avoidance is involved.
Examples:
- An employee may lie if he or she is to lose pay by being honest and in
the case of pay being stopped because of poor work.
- An employee may not be honest if his or her line Manager is unreasonable
or bad tempered.
Honesty therefore should apply at all levels of management within a
company.
The company needs to be honest about its service or products, which it
intends to promote or sell. A disappointed customer may never use that
company again, if a service or product does not come up to expectation.
Sales Staff and Customer relations are important.
If a representative cannot rely on backup from others in the
organisation, the company does not look favourable in the eyes of the
Customer and may cause problems later.
